Microsoft OneNote: What Does It Do?

without comments

What Does OneNote Do?

In essence OneNote is a blank space where you can save all your important information – the type of data you normally store away carefully and then promptly forget where you’ve saved it.

OneNote goes above and beyond this though. It helps you organise your text, pictures, digital handwriting, audio and video recordings etc. under multiple tabs and in different categories and menus. There is also a built in search feature to allow you to easily find the information you need.

Can I Share My Information With Others?

OneNote’s sharing capability allows everyone in your company to access the information they need. Forget writing down vital information on a post-it note and sticking it to the office notice board; now you can share information through OneNote.

Every time you add information it synchronises across OneNote so that everyone sees the latest changes. OneNote also offers an offline option; any changes you make will then sync as soon as you are back online.

Is My Data Secure?

OneNote keeps all data secure using passwords. You can set a different password for each page to restrict access in the way you want.

What Other Features Does OneNote Offer?

OneNote automatically saves as soon as you input data so you don’t have to worry about hitting the save button before you close it down. If you want to you can easily go back later and change or delete the information. You can also print pages from OneNote as you would from other documents.

OneNote gives you a selection of templates such as the home improvement journal, wedding planner notebook, student notebook, legal practice notebook, calendar and many more. Alternatively you can just start with a blank page and make it your own.

If you’re feeling inspired to give OneNote a go why not open it up on your computer and explore it for yourself? It is really simple to use and could revolutionise the way your office works! Look out for future posts explaining how to use OneNote’s various features.
